Our Environment business is a specialist division of Galliford Try focused on delivering essential infrastructure that keeps the UK’s water and environmental systems running efficiently and sustainably. Operating across the UK, from the South West of England to the Highlands of Scotland, we work with all 13 of the country’s major water and sewerage companies, as well as public and private sector clients, to tackle the challenges of ageing infrastructure, climate resilience, funding pressures, and stringent regulation. Our expertise ensures that vital water and environmental services are fit for purpose today and prepared for the future, helping communities thrive through resilient, sustainable infrastructure.

Our Environment businesses

AVRS Systems

AVRS Systems was established in 1972 and has since built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist mechanical and electrical design and build solutions, delivering complex technical projects predominantly in the water and energy sectors. AVRS became part of Galliford Try in 2023 as part of its Sustainable Growth Strategy. The acquisition is a core part of the strategic plans for Galliford Try’s Environment Division and provides the foundations for its move into adjacent sectors alongside the UK water sector.

Lintott

Lintott Control Systems is a pioneering customer-centric and multi-award winning Process Solutions Provider. The company specialises in the design, manufacture and after-care of factory-built, packaged water and waste wastewater treatment systems, process software/systems integration, and electrical control panels. Galliford Try acquired Lintott as part of the acquisition of nmcn's water businesses in 2021 as part of its strategy to grow in the water sector.

Ham Baker Engineering

Ham Baker offers asset inspection, maintenance and screens and distributor operations.

The business, acquired by Galliford Try in 2022, produces a variety of engineered products for the water industry, which Galliford Try will use as a basis to develop a low carbon engineering offering, enabling products and raw materials to be as reused as possible, and reducing waste.
