Galliford Try’s Building Southern business has commenced work on a major new sustainable primary health care centre on behalf of Worthing Borough Council in West Sussex.

The £30m project will see the creation of the Worthing Integrated Care Centre, combining GP, mental health, community and dentistry services, as well as a new pharmacy for the town and the surrounding areas, transforming local health provision.

The project is to be built on an under-utilised brownfield site as part of the town’s wider Civic Quarter regeneration, and is targeting a BREEAM Excellent certification. A multi-storey car park will also be constructed as part of the scheme.

Gavin Bridge, Managing Director of Building Southern, commented: “We are delighted to have begun works on this significant new facility that will make such a difference to local people. We have a strong track record in collaborating with our clients to provide sustainable public buildings and we look forward to working with all the stakeholders involved to achieve their ambitions.”
