Galliford Try’s Building West Midlands and South West team held a topping out ceremony for the new Assembly Bristol mixed-use development, alongside dignitaries from developers Bell Hammer and AXA Investment Management (IM).
To commemorate the completion of the external structures of Buildings B & C, a final ceremonial pour of grout into a well void on the top of the site was carried out by Maeva Bregere and Rob Samuel from AXA IM.
The buildings, in the heart of Bristol, will serve as a Category A premium office space and demonstrate Galliford Try’s commitment to utilising Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) featuring a number of precast elements including walls, edge beams and floors, as well as single precast concrete staircase. The construction of the development follows on from the successful completion of Building A in July 2021.
David Bowdley, Operations Director for Galliford Try’s Building West Midlands and South West business, who joined in the celebration, commented: “It was a pleasure to mark this milestone in the delivery of Assembly Bristol with Bell Hammer and AXA IM and members from the team behind the new buildings. The new facilities will add to what is set to become a destination office space for Bristol, and I look forward to working with all the stakeholders involved to complete these impressive counterparts to the successful Building A.”
