Galliford Try employee Sam Dudley has received recognition for her efforts in her studies at Birmingham City University, winning the School of Engineering and the Built Environment HNC award.
Sam began her career with Galliford Try in 2016 as a Document Controller, working with the Arena Central team for the Building West Midlands and South West business unit. She had a desire to get involved in Design Management, so the team decided to help her progress her technical knowledge required for the role.
In September 2019, having believed her studying days were behind her, she went back to learning, enrolling on an HNC Construction course at Birmingham City University, supported by Galliford Try.
With the pandemic beginning in March 2020, Sam had an extra barrier to struggle with, managing the disruption to family and work routines with her studies, but with the help of her Galliford Try colleagues, she excelled in her studies, receiving a Distinction in her course earlier this year, and the University’s EBE HNC prize.

Sam has already moved upward in her career and is now establishing herself as an Assistant Design Manager within the team, and we look forward to seeing her future successes as she continues to develop at Galliford Try.
Sam commented: “It’s been great for me personally to be able to further my skills and understanding along my chosen career path, and I’m very grateful for the support I have received from Galliford Try and my colleagues. Although it has been hard work, to be recognised for my studies in the way I have is very rewarding, and I look forward to applying all I have learned going forward with the business.”
