Galliford Try has commenced works on a vital mental health project on behalf of Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. The project is set to transform existing Section 136 suites into a new centralised health-based place of safety.
The scheme involves the conversion and refurbishment of an existing building to create a new centralised health-based place of safety. It brings services together and increases capacity to offer care and support to people in crisis across the region.
Delivered through the NHS ProCure23 framework, the project is utilising Galliford Try’s Millimetres Matter design standard. The standard is developed to ensure high-quality, consistent delivery for mental health settings. The centralised health-based place of safety will be designed to meet medium secure standards. It considers external areas as well as access and exit routes to and from the unit.
Laura Hodgetts, Galliford Try Healthcare Director, commented: “We’re proud to be working with the Trust on this important project, creating a high-quality facility that supports both staff and service users. By focusing on safe, well-designed spaces that promote dignity and wellbeing, we’re helping to enable the delivery of compassionate, effective care and making a lasting contribution to the local health estate.”
