Over 300 key supply chain partners and subcontractors joined leaders from across Galliford Try for the National Supply Chain Conference, a dedicated event designed to strengthen collaboration, align on shared priorities, and reinforce the critical role supply chain plays in the Group’s delivery.
Throughout the day, Executive Board members and senior leaders from the Group delivered a series of sessions offering updates on strategic direction, performance priorities, digital innovation, culture, and future pipelines. The conference provided partners with a clear view of the Group’s long‑term vision and the essential role they play in driving shared success.
Group Procurement and Supply Chain Director Andrew Spencer introduced the event with Bill Hocking, Chief Executive, who highlighted the Group's success over the past five years and outlined Galliford Try's Sustainable Growth Strategy. Early in the day, the importance of health and safety was emphasised by HS&E Director Mike Webb.
Later on, updates were shared on supply chain performance, upcoming opportunities including the Group’s strategic initiative designed to foster deep collaboration with supply chain partners, known as Advantage through Alignment (AtA), with sessions led by Andrew Spencer and Ben Cross, Supply Chain Collaboration Lead.
David Lowery, Divisional Managing Director for Infrastructure Services, explored the fundamentals of operational excellence, Galliford Try’s approach to carbon reduction with Sean Blackmore, Technical Services Director and Head of Low Carbon Poppy Parsons, while Barry Morse, Head of Information Security and Compliance talked about the importance of cyber security.
Vikki Skene, HR Director held a panel discussion with Jeremy Barnett, Managing Director for Building North East and Yorkshire; Richard Metcalf, Head of Procurement for Environment; and Tom Foy, Works Manager for Infrastructure, which focused on creating the right culture for growth.
In the afternoon, business leaders from our Building, Environment, Infrastructure and Specialist Services including Jon Marston, Mark Shadrick, Andy Arpino and Thomas Faulkner presented an in‑depth look at the structure, priorities and pipelines of each business unit and a deeper insight into what we do at Galliford Try.
The conference concluded with a Q&A, and reflections on the themes of the day.
