Galliford Try once again opened its doors to students, jobseekers and local communities as part of Build UK Open Doors 2026, welcoming more than 400 visitors across 14 sites and offices nationwide.

At the Balsall Heath Library and Moseley Road Swimming Baths restoration project, visitors were given a behind-the-scenes look at the refurbishment of two remarkable Grade II listed buildings.

The project combines complex structural repairs, roof replacement, full internal refurbishment and the installation of modern renewable energy systems, while carefully preserving rare historic features. The team also shared the unique heritage of the site, including its use as a makeshift hospital during the Second World War, bringing the buildings’ rich history to life for visitors.

Elsewhere across the business, teams hosted a wide range of engaging site and office experiences. In the North West, 10 schools visited Olive Primary School in Bolton and Castle Hill Primary School in Todmorden, while Ham Baker Engineering took part in Open Doors for the first time with a factory tour showcasing its engineering and manufacturing processes.

Suzie Ellis, Group Communities and Social Value Manager, commented: “Open Doors is a fantastic opportunity to give young people a real insight into the world of construction and showcase the wide range of roles available across our business. Thank you to all the teams involved in hosting the visits, and we hope the experience has helped inspire some of our visitors to consider a future career in the industry.”
