Galliford Try is proud to announce it has achieved the Gold Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), the highest badge of honour for organisations that demonstrate outstanding support to the Armed Forces community.
To receive the Gold Award, employers must be recognised as exemplars within their sector actively championing defence people initiatives and influencing partner organisations, and suppliers to adopt similar supportive practices. The award reflects tangible, positive outcomes from Galliford Try’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and sustained advocacy for serving personnel, veterans, cadet force adult volunteers, reservists and their families.
This milestone builds on the Group’s previous achievement of the Silver Award, its recent recognition as one of the Top 50 Employers for Veterans by the GREAT British Employers of Veterans programme, and the commendations received by Pam McNeill, Business Assurance Manager at Galliford Try Fabrications, and Steve Houckham, Head of HS&E for Environment, at this year’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
Vikki Skene, Group HR Director for Galliford Try, said: “We’re honoured to be recognised with the Gold Award, reinforcing our position as a leading employer for Military leavers, veterans, cadet force adult volunteers, and reservists. We deeply value the experience, discipline, and dedication the Armed Forces community brings to our workforce. Through buddy systems, tailored placements, and programmes shaped by our own veterans and reservists, we continue to build a culture that supports and celebrates their contribution.”
