Galliford Try has been shortlisted for four prizes at this year’s Procure Partnerships Framework (PPF) National Project Excellence Awards (NPEA).
The NPEA are organised by PPF to recognise outstanding projects and professionals who have set new benchmarks in the industry through their work on the national framework.
Banwell Bypass, which is funded through the Homes England Housing Infrastructure Fund, has been shortlisted for the Infrastructure Project of the Year award. The £66.6m project aims to ease congestion on the A38 near Weston-super-Mare by addressing a known traffic bottleneck north of Banwell village.
Once complete, it will also pave the way for future housing development in the area.
Meanwhile, the Blyth Energy Central Learning Hub, built by Galliford Try Building North East and Yorkshire has earned recognition in the Project of the Year – North category as well as the Social Value Impact Award for delivering more than £11.6m worth of social value during its construction. This includes providing local employment opportunities, time with local colleges and schools, support for apprentices and T-Level students, and spend with micro, small, and medium enterprises in the area.
Also nominated is the Brentwood High School Expansion, up for the Social Value Excellence in Action Award, recognising its strong focus on community engagement. As part of the project, the project team has taken part in weekly site visits for pupils and provided practical, hands-on experience for T-Level students from Trafford College to gain experience within the industry. The £6.4m project built by Galliford Try Building North West will increase Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision by 80 places, addressing the growing demand for specialist education.
Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: “This recognition reflects Galliford Try’s commitment to delivering projects that not only address critical infrastructure needs but also contribute significantly to local communities. I wish the best of luck to all our teams for the awards ceremony in September.”
