Galliford Try sites from across the UK are getting ready to receive visitors from Monday for the annual Open Doors week.
The event, which takes place from 19-24 March, sees construction sites open up to visitors to give them a unique insight into how a construction site works and the variety of careers and opportunities open to young people and those looking for a career change.
Organised by trade body Build UK in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the event is also supported by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) and the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), as well as media partners Construction News.
A diverse range of more than 25 sites from Galliford Try, Linden Homes, Galliford Try Partnerships and Morrison Construction are taking part. This includes the Manchester Airport transformation project, the Airbus Wing Integration Centre project in Bristol, the Brunswick regeneration scheme in Manchester, the East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington and the Shinfield Meadows scheme in Berkshire.
Peter Truscott, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: “Open Doors is an important part of the calendar for our industry in engaging with the communities we work in and encouraging people to actively look at careers in construction and housebuilding.
“It’s always great to see the passion of our staff for what they do being communicated to visitors to our sites and I thank them for their efforts in making sure that we make a success of this important event once more this year.”
