Galliford Try’s Infrastructure business has appointed Nick Whyment as Framework Director as part of its new expansion into providing civil engineering solutions for the energy sector.

Nick will take charge of Galliford Try’s position on the National Grid’s £59bn High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Frameworks, which was announced last month.

He joins the business from Skanska where he was last Project Director on the major A428 scheme, following a 20-year career in civil engineering. He has previous experience of the energy sector having worked on the National Grid London Power Tunnels project.

Glennan Blackmore, Managing Director for Galliford Try Infrastructure, commented: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Nick to the business. It is an exciting time as we look to expand into the energy sector, beginning with the National Grid framework and I look forward to working with Nick as we develop what will become an important part of our offering.”
