Galliford Try, the UK construction group, announces that its Environment business has been appointed to two lots on the new Wessex Water Design & Build Contractors (Minor Works) Framework Agreement.  Working with YTL Construction (UK), the framework agreement will support the delivery of Wessex Water’s £3.7bn AMP8 delivery period spend.

The framework will run for an initial five-year period with the option to extend to a total maximum period of eight years. The business has been selected for one of the places on Lot 1 – non-infrastructure works, which covers facilities and treatments systems, and Lot 2 – infrastructure works, covering network and pipeline infrastructure, both for water and wastewater projects. Works will be delivered both as individual schemes, and as aggregated programmes of smaller schemes.

Mark Shadrick, Managing Director, of Galliford Try’s Environment business, commented: “We are delighted to continue our strong working relationship with our partners at Wessex Water to assist them in delivering their plans for AMP8. This is a great opportunity for our newly created Asset Management part of our business, offering a real capital maintenance opportunity to grow the higher margin side of the business.

“We have sustained a successful track record of winning places on these key water sector frameworks for the AMP8 period which are a driver of our Sustainable Growth Strategy, and we look forward to delivering for Wessex Water’s customers and stakeholders.”
