Galliford Try’s Building Southern business has been appointed to deliver the replacement of St Francis Catholic Primary School, part of the Mother Teresa Catholic Academy Trust on its existing site in South Ascot, Berkshire.
This project is the 18th school delivered by Galliford Try under the Department for Education’s (DfE) 2021 Construction Framework (Medium Value Band) and will offer modern, permanent facilities for the school’s 210 students.
The new £11m school building will replace the existing teaching block and will include the relocation of the St Francis statue within the building and grounds. The design will also use building materials chosen to complement both the adjacent church and the surrounding woodland environment.
In addition to the new facilities, the project will include the installation of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and the restoration of the school’s existing playing field. Careful consideration will be given to protecting the ecological features of the site throughout the construction process.
Gavin Bridge, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building Southern, said: “We are proud to be supporting the Department for Education and the Mother Teresa Catholic Academy Trust in delivering this important project for the South Ascot community. Providing high-quality, sustainable learning environments is central to our work, and we look forward to collaborating closely with the school and local stakeholders to create a new building that reflects the values and setting of St Francis.”
