Galliford Try’s Environment business has been awarded a Silver Green World Award for its commitment to environmental best practice at the Tophill Low Water Treatments Works (WTW).

Selected from over 1,200 nominations worldwide, the Tophill Low WTW scheme repurposed 25,050 tonnes of historic waste, saving £3m and reducing carbon dioxide by 105 tonnes, as well as creating accessible viewing platforms and a major wildlife habitat.

The Green World Awards, organised by The Green Organisation, are an extension of the Green Apple Awards and recognise and reward the endeavours of public and private sector organisations that are making a beneficial impact on the environment.

Mark Shadrick, Managing Director Galliford Try Environment, commented: “We are delighted to receive the Silver Green World Award, a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication. The success of the Tophill Low WTW scheme is a reflection of our commitment to delivering sustainable solutions that benefit both the environment and the local community.”
