Galliford Try’s Banwell Bypass project in North Somerset has been shortlisted for Infrastructure Project of the Year at the Procure Partnerships Framework (PPF) National Project Excellence Awards (NPEA).

The £66.5m project will relieve traffic on the A38 route towards Weston-super-Mare from the current pinch point north of Banwell village, unlocking the potential for future housing development. The scheme will also see the creation of new walking, cycling and horse-riding routes.

The project is being delivered on behalf of North Somerset Council, funded through the Homes England Housing Infrastructure Fund and secured through the Procure Partnerships Framework.

Commenting on the award nominations, Glennan Blackmore, Managing Director, Galliford Try Infrastructure, said: “Being shortlisted for Infrastructure Project of the Year is fantastic recognition of the whole team’s dedication, technical excellence and collaborative approach. This achievement reflects the strong partnership between our client, our supply chain, and everyone involved in delivering the project. We’re incredibly proud to see it acknowledged alongside some of the best work in the industry.”

The NPEA are organised by PPF to recognise outstanding projects and professionals who have set new benchmarks in the industry through their work on the national framework.

Winners will be announced on 17 September 2026 at an awards ceremony in Liverpool.
