Galliford Try, in partnership with Kingston University, is leading an innovative project to transform how construction quality issues are identified and addressed.
The 30-month project, funded through a £131,000 grant from UK Research and Investment, plans to revolutionise our approach to construction quality management. The project includes the design and development of a groundbreaking system, which integrates Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to optimise quality through improvements in the prediction and prevention of errors.
By analysing thousands of previously recorded quality incidents across different projects, we are developing an AI-powered system that uses machine learning to predict the likelihood of future defects.
The tool draws on similarities with past projects, such as sector, scale, and scope, to provide early warnings and tailored risk insights for new developments. This will enable more informed decision-making during planning and delivery, helping our teams to act before problems occur.
