Galliford Try’s Building West Midlands team are celebrating after the Wolverhampton Interchange project claimed the title of Regeneration Project of the Year at the West Midlands Property Awards.

The scheme was also nominated as a finalist in the categories for Construction Project of the Year and the Sustainability Award.

The Wolverhampton Interchange project saw the regeneration of the existing station, creating a new entrance hall and ticketing area as well as the inclusion of new retail units, providing a revitalised focal point for the station, and new back of house office space. The second phase of the project is now underway, connecting the new station with the nearby West Midlands metro.

Simon Courtney, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building West Midlands and South West, commented: “The Wolverhampton Interchange has become a real exemplar project for our business, delivered in fantastic fashion in challenging circumstances. This award is well deserved, and I look forward to the team delivering on the second phase to the same high standard.”
