Morrison Construction is celebrating major recognition at this year’s Scottish Design Awards, with six projects shortlisted across the education and commercial categories.
Now in its twenty-ninth year, the Scottish Design Awards celebrate Scotland’s most inspiring architecture, creativity and the talented people behind it. The awards provide a national platform dedicated to work shaped by Scotland’s people, places and culture, with projects judged by industry peers who understand the local context and challenges.
In the Education Building or Project category, Morrison Construction secured four of the five nominations with Earlston Primary School, Hawkhill Primary School, the West Calder High School Extension, and Whitecraig Primary School and Early Years Centre all shortlisted. The achievement highlights the business’s strong track record in delivering high-quality, innovative learning environments across Scotland.
The business has also been recognised in the Commercial/Office/Hotel Building or Project category, with nominations for the Health Innovation Hub in Glasgow and the Royal Dornoch Clubhouse in the Highlands, showcasing the breadth of Morrison Construction’s expertise across multiple sectors.
In addition, the Northern Meeting Park project in the Highlands was nominated in both the Public Building and Conservation categories.
David Ewing, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, said: “To receive this level of recognition across multiple categories is a fantastic achievement for our teams and partners.
“Having four out of five shortlisted projects in the education category is particularly special and reflects the expertise, collaboration and commitment that goes into delivering inspiring spaces for communities across Scotland.”
Gordon Williamson, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Highland, added: “We are delighted to see the Royal Dornoch Clubhouse and Northern Meeting Park recognised at this year’s awards. The project is a fantastic example of collaborative working and quality delivery in a unique and prestigious setting.”
