Morrison Construction has been appointed to deliver the £56 million Hawick High School project, marking a major investment in education across the Scottish Borders.
Procured through Hub South East for Scottish Borders Council, the project will replace the existing school with a modern four-storey building on the same site. The new facility will accommodate up to 900 pupils, alongside an Enhanced Provision supporting a further 25 students.
Hawick High School has a long history, with education in the town dating back to 1711. The new development will continue this legacy while providing flexible, modern learning environments for future generations and supporting the wider Hawick school cluster.
David Ewing, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, said: “We are proud to be delivering a high-quality, modern facility that will support the future of education in the Scottish Borders. This project represents a significant investment in the local community, and we look forward to working closely with our partners to create a school that will benefit pupils, staff and the wider community for generations to come.”
