Galliford Try Highways scooped three awards at the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) Grand Awards staged at the Hotel Ibis in Earls Court, London, on 16 January.

The business won the ‘Construction Company’ and ‘Large Business’ categories while Duncan Elliott was named as 'Managing Director of the Year'. Galliford Try Highways was also placed eleventh in the NCFD top 100 index - the highest position ever achieved by a construction company in the awards' four-year history.

The accolades crown a very successful spell for Galliford Try Highways which achieved the Leaders in Diversity accreditation from the NCFD before Christmas. The accreditation, also presented on the night, and the awards recognise exemplary standards of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement, known as FREDIE.

Duncan Elliott, Managing Director for Galliford Try Highways, said: “We have made huge progress over the last 12 months in all areas of FREDIE and these awards are a tremendous recognition of the efforts made by our great team. We will continue to be committed to FREDIE and our journey to make our industry even better. This is only the beginning for us.”

He added: “FREDIE is about creating inclusive cultures, inspiring workplaces and diversifying our skills. We are truly embedding this approach. We have great people, great teams and a great business and I am immensely proud and privileged to be part of it.”
