Galliford Try has been shortlisted for two awards at the British Construction and Infrastructure Awards.

The Infrastructure business has been nominated for the Sustainability and Environmental Impact Award for the innovative Species Rich Grassland (SRG) Trials on the A47 dualling schemes in Norfolk.

The nomination recognises the industry-leading initiative, which challenges traditional landscaping approaches on major highways projects.

The A47 North Tuddenham to Easton and Blofield to North Burlingham dualling schemes in Norfolk, currently being delivered on behalf of National Highways, are located on former agricultural land where intensive farming has resulted in nutrient-rich soils. To maximise biodiversity and environmental outcomes, the project team established a series of SRG trials within the existing topsoil, using tailored seed mixes and maintenance regimes to provide long-term habitats for pollinators, birds and invertebrates, and creating biodiversity benefits that can be enjoyed by local communities and road users for years to come.

In the second shortlisting, Building London and South East Commercial’s Dolphin Square project has been nominated for the Retrofit and Reuse Award. In partnership with BNP Paribas and the Dolphin Square management team, the phased restoration is set to modernise the 795,990 sq ft 1930s-built estate and provide over 1,200 high-quality private rental apartments with enhanced amenity space and common areas.

The project has previously won multiple awards, including the Global Real Estate and Infrastructure Institute (GRI) Awards, the International Property Awards, and the Property Week Rental Living Awards.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Matt Mosley, Operations Director for Galliford Try Infrastructure, said: “I’m incredibly proud to see this innovative  trial receiving the recognition it deserves. The shortlisting reflects the A47 team’s expertise and commitment to challenging traditional ways of working, which ultimately benefits our clients, communities and the environment.”

Matthew Pool, Managing Director for Building London and South East Commercial, added: "Dolphin Square has become a real flagship project for our business thanks to the dedication and expertise of the project team, who have carried out an excellent restoration of this historic estate. We look forward to the awards in October and all nominees teams the best.”
