Topic Awards, Projects

Date 26 May 2026

Galliford Try has received multiple nominations, including Contractor of the Year, at this year’s North West Regional Construction Awards, recognising the quality, innovation and social impact of its projects across the region.

Bolton University Collegiate School (UCS) has earned wide acclaim with shortlisting in three categories: Project of the Year - Building; Innovation; and Social Impact. The project involved the creation of a major extension to the existing school, including new teaching facilities, dining and kitchen areas, a sports hall and activity studio, alongside refurbishment works to support the school’s transition from a vocational to an academic curriculum.

The Brentwood SEN (Special Educational Needs) School Expansion Project has received two nominations in the Project of the Year - Building and Social Impact Award categories. Delivered for Trafford Council and procured through the Procure Partnerships North West Framework, the project will increase SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) provision by 80 places, creating enhanced learning environments for pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex medical needs.

In addition to the project nominations, Galliford Try has also been shortlisted for Contractor of the Year for demonstrating an industry-leading approach to project delivery, quality, collaboration and sustainability.

Darren Parker, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building North West, said: “To receive recognition across so many categories is a fantastic achievement for our teams and supply chain partners. These nominations reflect not only the quality of the projects we deliver, but also the positive impact they have on the communities they serve.

“We are particularly proud to see education and SEND projects recognised, as they demonstrate how thoughtful design, collaboration and innovation can create environments that genuinely improve outcomes for young people. Being shortlisted for Contractor of the Year is also a testament to exceptional performance and industry leadership across our teams and projects.”

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 2 July 2026 at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, bringing together leading construction professionals from across the North West to celebrate excellence in the built environment.
