Galliford Try’s commitment to early careers ‘earn and learn’ schemes has been recognised with a Gold Award through The 5% Club’s 2021 Employer Audit Scheme.

Galliford Try, which joined the 5% Club in 2017, participated in the newly-launched audit which validates employers’ activities, explores their future plans and commitments and examines their approaches to quality, social mobility, diversity and inclusion.

The Group was one of just 58 companies out of a participating 600 – representing 1.2 million employees - to be awarded the Gold standard, recognising the strength of its early careers programmes, which forms a key part of its Sustainable Growth Strategy.

Mark Cameron OBE, Chief Executive at The 5% Club, said: “We set out to create a scheme that recognises the efforts of all those employers who invest in their workforce through a broad range of workplace learning schemes. It is fantastic that in these challenging times so many are able to commit to the Employer Audit and to gain the credit for their efforts, and that the majority are striving to expand their schemes over the coming years. Their efforts and achievements are to be applauded.”

Vikki Skene, HR Director and Executive Board member of Galliford Try, said: “Early careers are the focus of many of our recruitment activities, as they allow us to grow our own talent and so we are absolutely delighted to have received this recognition for our efforts, particularly when we have just launched our 2022 Graduate Programme.

“Our aim is to create a destination company where people from across the industry and beyond aspire to work so this is further confirmation we are on the right path as a people-orientated, progressive business driven by our values.”
