Galliford Try’s Environment business has appointed Mariana Gonzalez as the new Head of Process Solutions as it ramps up its activities in asset optimisation, a target area of Galliford Try’s Sustainable Growth Strategy.
Mariana takes responsibility for Asset Performance Management, offering clients innovative solutions through the optimisation of existing assets, to provide improvements and opportunities for the water utilities from a holistic water cycle approach.
Mariana, who joined the business as part of the nmcn water acquisition last year, started her career as a Chemical Engineer in the oil industry, before moving into the water sector with Thames Water and United Utilities, and successfully completing a PhD in Anaerobic Digestion of Sewage Sludge at the University of Surrey.
She has significant experience in all process areas of the water industry, including water, wastewater, and sludge treatment. During her career, she has had the opportunity to work in different sectors of the industry including the water utilities, consultancy services and construction, giving her a holistic understanding of the needs and challenges facing the sector.
