Galliford Try’s Environment business has been appointed to two new pipeline contracts worth a combined £64 million by client Thames Water.

The projects, awarded under the AMP7 framework, are both designed to increase the resiliency of the network in London and the South East.

First the team will be installing a new £33 million pipeline in South London, in Thames Water’s Riverside Flow Monitoring Zone, which is required to meet an anticipated increase in demand due to several major housing developments in the surrounding area.

In addition, the Environment business has been appointed to a £31 million contract to install a new 9km clean water pipeline connecting the Netley Water Treatment Works in the east of Guildford, Surrey with the main reservoir network to the west.

Mark Shadrick, Managing Director for Galliford Try Environment, commented: “We are delighted to be working with our partners at Thames Water to deliver these vital pieces of infrastructure for the local community in and around Guildford and South London.

“We have a strong track record in protecting and enhancing local ecology through the projects we have been involved with and I look forward to the team delivering exemplar schemes once again.”
