The North Wales Police Eastern Command and Custody Facility has been recognised by Constructing Excellence Wales, winning two awards at their national award ceremony.
The project won the awards for Client of the Year and the Offsite Award, both prizes recognising the tremendous level of collaboration involved in producing the scheme.
Due to be handed over in a few weeks’ time, the new centre in Llay, just outside Wrexham consists of an 8,600 sqm building which will accommodate 248 police personnel across all their specialist teams, while housing up to 32 detainees in the custody cells, including specialised cells for vulnerable people.
Jim Parker, Managing Director of Galliford Try North West, commented: “The ECCF project has been a real exemplar in terms of the collaboration we have had with the client and stakeholders involved. Both these awards recognise that tremendous level of team working and I congratulate the project team on their successes.”
