Galliford Try has been named as a finalist at this year’s New Civil Engineer (NCE) Bridges Awards that celebrate extraordinary projects and visionary professionals who are reshaping bridge engineering.

Galliford Try has been recognised in the Bridge Project Team of the Year category for Carlisle Southern Link Road (CSLR). The team was praised for strong collaboration with supply chain partners in delivering the major bridge structures, including the River Caldew crossing, enhancing buildability, resolving challenges early and maintaining safe, efficient progress.

Delivered on behalf of Cumberland Council, the new road connects junction 42 of the M6 with the A595 at Newby West, providing additional crossings of the River Caldew and River Petteril, and includes the construction of four roundabouts, five cycle bridges and four road bridges along an 8km stretch.

Additionally, the CSLR scheme has also been shortlisted for the Supply Chain Excellence Awards at this year’s Construction News (CN) Awards, further recognising its outstanding performance.

Glennan Blackmore, Managing Director for Galliford Try Infrastructure, said: “Collaboration has been at the heart of the CSLR project from the start, bringing designers, engineers and supply chain partners together as one team to share knowledge, strengthen planning and maintain high standards.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and teamwork shown throughout the project and is something the whole team can be proud of. Congratulations to everyone involved, and best of luck at the awards.”

Winners for the NCE Awards will be announced on 16 July 2026 and CN Awards will be announced on 9 July 2026.
