Ealing Elderly Care PFI
Client: London Borough of Ealing
Value: £22 million
Location: West London
Ealing Care Alliance, the special purpose company, was initially formed to deliver three resource centres for the Elderly for Ealing Borough Council.
A unique feature of the scheme was the addition of a fourth home during the preferred bidder phase. This made the scheme affordable by allowing a greater contribution to the running costs from private sector beds.
A complex decant and build process involving the original homes posed a major challenge with careful planning allowing smooth transition from site to site and no disruption to the residents routines.
Galliford Try’s partner in the SPV is Servite Houses who act as the care provider and the facilities management contractor.
