Galliford Try is one of the equity partners in the multi award-winning Scottish Water Solutions (SWS), formed in 2003 to deliver £1 billion of Scottish Water’s £1.8 billion Q&S II Capital Investment Programme, the largest investment programme in the UK in recent years. A further £760 million was added in 2006 of the Q&S IIIa CIP.

Galliford Try has contributed significant asset management skills to the eight partner joint venture, effective management of design, resource, supply chain, construction through to commissioning and handover to the client. A number of innovative solutions were implemented to produce efficiencies in delivering both the Q&S II Programme and the Q&S IIIa Programme.

Galliford Try formed a joint venture with Morgan Est (GMJV) to deliver SWS projects in the West of Scotland stretching from Orkney & Shetlands in the north to Ayrshire in the south and has so far successfully delivered more than £270 million of projects for Scottish Water Solutions.

External recognition of the achievements of the Solutions’ partnership in delivering efficiently and safely has seen Scottish Water Solutions win three Utility Industry Awards and both Solutions and GMJV have reached and maintained the RoSPA gold standard in Health and Safety. A £6 million scheme to connect 180 properties to the public sewer network at Cove and Kilcreggan on the West coast was singled out under the Considerate Constructors scheme for its “exceptional measures in community relations.
