Client: The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club
Location: South West London

Galliford Try's 35 year relationship with The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club has seen the delivery of a range of state-of-the-art facilities, most recently the headline-grabbing retractable roof at the Centre Court.

The fabric nature of the roof allows it to fold in a concertina like movement, taking approximately eight minutes to close, and accommodating a highly sophisticated air-management system. The system is controls humidity levels and ensures the correct court conditions for play.

Whilst undertaking this project, Galliford Try simultaneously fitted out the Centre Court with new wider and padded seats, as well as constructing a new No.2 Court stadium with seating. The team is currently building a new No.3 Court stadium, facilities building, grounds maintenance facilities and three new courts with associated facilities.

The long-standing relationship between Galliford Try and The Club has also seen the delivery of a No.1 Court, Broadcast Centre, new and realigned northern courts, practice courts, The Millennium Building, a new Museum and Administration Building, new courts and facilities to the South Apex, realignment of the southern courts and the refurbishment of the Centre Court Clubhouse, rebuilding of the Centre Court West, and North and East stand.
