Darwen Leisure Centre
Client: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
Value: £12 million
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
This project comprised the demolition of the former leisure centre to make way for the construction of a new state-of-the-art complex.
Pennine Lancashire’s flagship sports and leisure facility, the development provides a 25m, eight-lane competition swimming pool. The pool features a movable floor (funded by Sport England) so it can be split for competitive and leisure use.
There is also spectator seating, a fitness suite, a health suite, sports hall, café, changing facilities, 63 space car park, learners’ pool, activity rooms, a gym and a cafe.
