Tesco Micro Wind

Galliford Try delivered the first batch of 27 turbines for Tesco, a high profile client which is leading the way in carbon reduction.
The project included the design and build of associated civil and electrical infrastructure, leading to the supply and erection of 27 6kW vertical axis Ropatec turbines which have been sited at 20 stores throughout the UK with generated power provided to the stores assisting in the reduction of Tesco’s carbon footprint and on site energy costs.
The award followed the successful installation of a trial turbine at the Tesco store at Newton Aycliffe in County Durham which allowed Regeneco to demonstrate the skills and experience required to deliver a quality, cost effective service for Tesco.
