Galliford Try is a national housebuilding and construction company delivering industry leading performance in the construction of a sustainable future.
Client: Harris Federation
Location: East Dulwich, London
The innovative design incorporating several renewable energy technologies to meet the carbon dioxide obligations set for the project includes a large south facing solar PV system on the Sports Hall Roof comprising 130 185Wp PV panels and four SMA 6000A inverters.
The PV is mounted within the Solion Sunmount mounting system in order to reduce the ballasting requirements of the non-penetrating array, with all units linking together with ballast only around the perimeter to prevent uplift of the edges.
The total size of the system is 24.05kWp, with an estimated annual output of at least 17,950kWh, displacing over 10 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year and generating a sizable income from the newly introduced Feed-In Tariff.
