Galliford Try is undertaking the design, supply and installation of a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) system at Garston Treatment Centre.

This technology will assist Galliford Try to hit the BREEAM "Excellent" rating. The GSHP will draw both heat and coolth from the ground, providing an anticipated 50 per cent of the heating and cooling requirement of the buildings through 26 150m boreholes at 8m centres, operating at coefficients of performance of 5.5 in cooling, and 4.5 in heating. The annual energy draw anticipated from the ground is approximately 150MWh and the system has been designed to last for 25 years.
