Galliford Try is drilling and grouting former mineworkings at Newcastle-upon-Tyne as part of a major regeneration scheme for the area.
A key challenge of the project is locating shafts and voids across the site, few of which have been previously documented. Works include the drilling and grouting of worked coal seams, major cut and fill excavation to level the ground and the construction of retaining walls, roads and drainage.
