Carpenders Park Platform Extension
Client: Network Rail
Value: £1.6 million
Location: Carpenders Park, Watford
The project consisted of a contract to extend and refurbish platforms at Carpenders Park Station, Watford, in line with the requirements for new rolling stock on the route.
The existing platforms were in poor condition, therefore, new coping stones, tactiles, surfacing and drainage were installed. The finished platforms were built to the appropriate gauge and met the recognised stepping distance criteria for the relevant rolling stock for the route.
The works were split into two phases with an operational length of platform available for use during the contract period.
