This project entailed the construction of a renewable and sustainable energy source to the area of Grytviken and King Edward Point on the island of South Georgia, South Atlantic.
This is a hydro-electric scheme making use of the catchment of Gull Lake, which holds an elevated position to the south of the former Grytviken Whaling Station. The island is the first British overseas territory to be supplied completely by sustainable energy and was formally opened by HRH The Princess Royal.
