Anglian Water Security

Client: Anglian Water
Value: £2 million

Galliford Try managed and implemented Anglian Water’s AMP4 security commitments to more than 160 potable water facilities throughout the east of England.

The close alignment of the Galliford Try project management team with Anglian Water’s own internal divisions including area operational management, senior technicians and telemetry engineers, in 11 Anglian Water areas, has been key to implementing the various security measures required.

The programme of security work includes:

  • The replacement of all timber doors on liquid chemical storing / dosing facilities with Loss Prevention Certification Board Level 4 rated steel door sets.
  • The protection of vulnerable parts of existing buildings including internal and external windows and louvers with steel bar sets, and false ceilings with security rated mesh coverings.
  • The enclosure of internally stored liquid chemicals and gases with individually designed security cages.
  • The installation and integration into Anglian Water’s existing telemetry of advanced electronic security alarm systems.
  • The enclosure of existing liquid chemical storing / dosing glass-reinforced plastic kiosks, by the means of specifically designing and installing steel security cages.

As principal contractor, Galliford Try has total responsibility for providing the project management (including full time site supervision) and covering all aspects of construction, design and management ensuring no operational disruption to Anglian Water.
