Client: University of Edinburgh
Value: £6.8 million
Location: Edinburgh
This project involved the construction of a new student accommodation building featuring a four-storey and six-storey wing and providing 118 bed spaces – a mixture of single, twin and assisted bedrooms – with en-suite facilities, communal lounge and kitchen facilities; complemented by a number of single bedrooms with balcony.
A former wardens building sited within the Pollock Halls campus was demolished to make way for the new 47,400 sq ft facility named after Sir John Burnett, former Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Edinburgh University from 1979 to 1987.
