This project involves the construction of an 8,000 sq m new build academy plus extension/conversion of the existing Edwardian school building to form a special needs school.

Works are being undertaken on the site of an existing school which has remained live throughout the project.

Phase 1 involved the construction of a sports centre for students.

Phase 2 entailed the demolition of the existing academy low rise school buildings and the construction of the new academy building.

Phase 3 comprises the demolition of the tower block and landscaping and refurbishment of a new special needs school building.

A BREEAM “Excellent” rating is to be achieved as a result of environmental features, including a thorough waste management and environmental plan.
