This design and build project saw the delivery of 26 one, two, three, four and five bedroom houses and apartments located within three blocks, while observing strict religious practices of the community throughout.
The structure was constructed using a reinforced concrete frame, and the building's facade is a combination of buff brick render and curtain walling. Concrete balconies with steel balustrade have been clad in timber. An inverted roof system generates a renewable and efficient energy supply, and window products were selected to include colour glass panels forming a vertical line on the facade.
The project achieved the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.The Gardens offers maximum external space, including a shared courtyard, to meet the needs of the residents which place importance on community values. Elements of the existing soft landscaping have been retained. Existing trees within the site were retained in line with Tree Preservation Orders, enhancing and softening the developments’ surroundings. In addition, a courtyard area has been created providing a communal seating and cycle storage.
