Galliford Try has once again won a President’s Awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The President’s Award is the second highest level of distinction given by RoSPA, and is presented to businesses which receive 10-14 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards. The win recognises the Group’s sustained focus on the safety and wellbeing of employees and those on site.
Also celebrating wins, were the Building Division’s London and South East commercial team which won its fifth President’s Award; the Building team in the East Midlands and our joint venture with Black & Veatch for the Environment Agency which both won Gold Medal Awards; and the Highways Maintenance business unit which won a Gold Award.
Gold Award winners and above must demonstrate excellent occupational health and safety management systems, a rigorous approach to occupational health and high levels of compliance with control measures. Gold Medal Awards are given to teams which win Gold Awards for 5-9 years consecutively.
David White, Group Health, Safety and Environment Director, said: “The RoSPA Awards are an international mark of excellence in safety and we’re proud to have again received the President’s Award at Group level and operationally, as well as our Gold Medal and Gold Award wins. The awards recognise our continued efforts in maintaining high standards of health and safety management and the cultural shift we have achieved on our sites since introducing our award-winning behavioural safety programme, ‘Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviour’.”
