Highland Wastewater

The local environments of Fort William and Inverness have substantially been enhanced through the completion of this scheme with the closure of existing old treatment works and with a dramatic improvement of the quality of discharged fully treated effluent directly into the tidal waters.

This project involved the construction of two new wastewater treatment plants in Inverness and Fort William providing full biological treatment and disinfection of wastewater to the latest quality standards required by the Scottish Environmental Pollution Agency.
