
Caludon Castle School and Community Centre
The Coventry Education Partnership was formed to design, build, finance and operate the new education and community facilities for Coventry City Council.
The new building accommodates 1,500 students and features a new community campus that embraces many key facilities including; state-of-the-art education facility performing arts centre, concert hall, dance and drama studios, sixth form centre, new sports and leisure complex with a 25m pool, community library, crèche and nursery.
Carol Reed, Headteacher of the school, said: "Our new school, built under the private finance initiative, provides state of the art facilities for all areas of the curriculum, underpinned by innovative use of ICT. Out of classroom activities at Caludon are many and varied, and are regarded as central to our students' education. They offer students considerable opportunity for learning and enjoyment.
"2007 - 2008 was an incredibly successful year for our students in terms of their exam results at all levels. Our GCSE 5+A*-C pass rate was a record for the school at 77 per cent and 61 per cent including English and Maths. At A2 Level our students achieved a pass rate of 99 per cent with 52 per cent at grade A or B. AS results were also excellent; this make sus the most successful school in Coventry at this level."
