In order to meet the demand for modern accommodation for service families, 317 homes, 230 at three sites around Bristol, 36 near Bath and 51 in the Portsmouth area, have been constructed for the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Using established standard house designs modified to meet the specific requirements of the MoD, the estates have been constructed with a contemporary "civilian" look.
Provision of a comprehensive facilities management service includes response and planned maintenance, help desk, estate management, 24 hour emergency service and grounds maintenance.
The affordability challenge of the very high price of housing land in the Bristol area was overcome by the use of innovative project financing and enabled the provision of high quality housing to MoD personnel.
Galliford Try’s involvement in this project included:
Client: Defence Housing Executive
Capital Expenditure Value: £45 million
Consortium Title: Tricomm (Housing) Portsmouth
Concession Period: 25 years
