Since August 1997, Galliford Try has been successfully constructing Macrocells, Microcells and upgrades for OPCS across the UK. In addition, from 2004, we have been deploying OPCS site shares; many of which have been built adjacent to existing towers owned by NTL, Severn Trent, British Gas, to name a few.
The EMEB site share at Wotton, Northampton is a typical site share for OPCS which involves constructing a reinforced concrete base for the equipment cabin, fencing works, ducting, electrical, lightning protection and finishing works. The works also involve coordination and organisation of electrical power connection, tower strengthening, equipment installation and rigging.
Many of OPCS site shares have been built adjacent to existing towers owned by NTL, Severn Trent, British Gas and many more. As with all third party sites it is imperative that they are treated with care and respect when constructing – Galliford Try ensure that continued close liaison with the site provider and client is a key objective.
OPCS has also taken advantage of the Galliford Try Structures & Solutions offering. We have provided OPCS with a Rapid Deployment Solution specifically designed to their requirements, providing an easier, quick and more cost effective deployment.
We continue to enjoy a close relationship with OPCS providing them with 3G rollout deployment, site share projects and decommissioning.
