Salford Strategic Service Partnership

Working in collaboration with Salford City Council and Capita Symonds, Morrison Construction has formed a strategic service partnership named Urban Vision to deliver a wide range of design and construction services that include highways, architectural design, building control, planning, development control, landscape design and property management.

The collaborative contract incorporates a secondment model, a unique alternative to the traditional TUPE staff transfer arrangement, through which around 450 Salford City Council, Capita Symonds and Morrison Construction employees have been seconded to Urban Vision.

Morrison Construction delivers highway maintenance and road network improvement works throughout the City of Salford. These services include routine/reactive highway repairs, footway and carriageway resurfacing/reconstruction and street lighting maintenance/renewal.

Salford City Council has secured a “Prudential funded” investment of £22 million for a targeted programme of footway and carriageway improvements over a four year period. Morrison Construction is undertaking this work through Urban Vision, using its strong in-house surfacing and traffic management resources to support the locally based operations.
