The contract includes a full M&E fit out along with raised floors and suspended ceilings. Associated works include car parking, drainage services and a structural base for a communications tower.

This project entails the challenging design and construction project given the technical element of the work and the fast track programme.
The works on site comprised of the conversion of a single storey basic warehouse with a totally controlled environment and special services, such as stand-by generators and UPS, prepared to receive the network equipment.
Quality and co-ordination were paramount to achieve the client’s requirements and these were delivered on time and to budget.

This project involved the design and construction of a 1,800 sq m two storey area switch centre for Mercury One-2-One (now T-Mobile) comprising of a steel framed clad building on strip footing and pad foundations. To provide and maintain a “clean” dust free environment for the installation of the telecommunications equipment.
The nature of the project programme necessitated a partial handover of the switch room in order that the client could install electronic equipment concurrently with the completion of the construction work. The management of two different working environments fell to Galliford Try and the success in this regard delivered considerable time savings to the client, resulting in Galliford Try being chosen to negotiate the building of a second switch centre in Glasgow.
