Eastgate Shopping Centre

This project comprises the design and construction of a new shopping centre, including the excavation of approximately 35,000m cu of material, the installation of approximately 1,000 CEA piles and tie back anchors.

The concrete frame consisted of a two storey underground car park, a mall floor and various stairs and lift shafts as well as the erection of structural steelwork, which were then concreted on two further levels. The total concrete used was approximately 25,000m cu with several pours over 500m sq per day. Work also included the erection of two link bridges to existing centre and supermarket and all mechanical and electrical and ventilation systems.

Works extended to the construction of access roads and roundabouts while maintaining access through the city centre and to immediate adjacent railway station.
