Our People

Central to our culture is the value we place on our employees, whom we seek to support through an employment relationship founded on fairness, equity, consistency, and trust.

Case Study - Danny Brown, Project Manager

“In 1994 I started work for Galliford Try as a Trainee Technician. I am now Project Manager on the M40 improvement project in Warwickshire.

The work is fascinating and allows me to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in Civil Engineering. I have achieved both full membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Civil Engineer status. This would not have been possible without the support of my line manager and mentors. In return, I am now a Supervising Civil Engineer overseeing the development of Trainees and summer placement students.”

Case Study - Sean Linsdey

Linden Homes South West has developed an apprenticeship programme with PSC Training and Development, aiming to encourage young people to work in construction.
Sean Lindsay, aged 18, is currently in the second year of his carpentry apprenticeship with Linden Homes. He attends college once a week and the rest of the week he is on site learning the trade. On completion of his three year course, he will receive qualified carpenter status as well as an NVQ certificate.
Reflecting on the course, Sean said: “The apprenticeship is going really well and it’s great to be learning and earning at the same time. It’s so useful to have a skill under my belt and I’m already finding friends and family are approaching me to help out with carpentry jobs – I don’t think I’ll ever be out of work!”
